Tim et al..,
It would appear that the "bug" in this site has to do with the lagging with page loading.
I've only recently started to experience the problems that many of you are having since we changed servers.
My U/N & P/W do not come up until..,the NOTAM page is fully loaded.,which takes several seconds.
I'm sure that the "knob twisters" will have this minor inconvenience straightened out in short order.
Have patience..,

I have seen sites that slow down, and finally a big slow down know as a crash, or a virus

This is gettin' like crawling up a 30% grade in an old '56 Mack Tri-plex with a 40 ft. flat-bed loaded with steel..,one arm wrapped thru the steering wheel.,while your two hands are tryin' ta find a lower gear.
Iffen we can keep the black smoke pourin' out the stacks & don't run out of gears.,we should be reachin' the crest of the hill 'fore long. 😎

Re: S-l-o-w

Guys

The wizards are transferring everything to a new server. Due to an update from a vendor that screwed up the works they have to do this. I was told this am it should be cleared up in a few hours. They have been working on this all week-end. A little slack please.

Thanks

LZ

Re: S-l-o-w

To add on to what LZ said-

We had to make a major transition from the "old" to the "new". To put it in terms even the aviators should understand, all the blades weren't tracking together and the concern was catastrophic failure, hacking or for the avionics folks- "problems with electron flow".
Decision for us was to keep the site up and work the minor inconvieniences that might arise or shut it down while it was worked. Chose to keep it up..
Decision for you all is to either 1) stay off the site and give the wizards some time to work it out or 2) stay on and keep providing your commentary. Personnaly I like the latter- that way I know you all are happy. 🙂

Re: S-l-o-w

Thanks Slick. Reminds me of an H34 model with the rotors turning ages ago when there was an NCO Club at Futenma. About every NCO when he enterd & obseved the H34 rotationg would say " The blades are out of track "! Those that knew would hand him a small tracking flag !! SF PM

Re: S-l-o-w

Welcome back Popasmoke - things should be cleared up by now. I apologize for the unexpected slow load times... I'll try to redirect your thoughts to some helicopter humor I found online like If something hasn't broken on your helicopter . . . it's about to. This and much more can be found here http://www.flymidwest.com/details.aspx?NavID=114

The major hurdles have been overcome but we're not finalized on the site yet; if you find something before I do please just drop me an email and I'll escalate the request; My email is webmaster@popasmoke.com

Re: S-l-o-w

The "Go to last post" tab still does NOT work.

It goes to the FIRST post in a thread ...... and when that thread
is a BIG one ...... well ...................................

Scrolling to the bottom is a PITA (not a Greek sammich).

Submitting a Reply also throws you to the start of the thread, NOT
your Reply.

PITA redux.

Thanks to you & your 'crew' for your efforts & the fortitude you've exhibited through out this debacle & thank you for the aviation humor. I had to pass it along to my niece & her husband. He is a retired commercial pilot.
