Sir:
I am Craif Willbanks Retired US Army SFC, and a POW/MIA Researcher.
We are attempting to find any info that you may have or can point me in the right direction, to obtain this needed info on the loss of Bart Uplinger.
According to the Vietnam Helicopter Assoc, Bart may have crashed into the same hill side as a earlier ch53 did. What we are trying to determine is the location of the crash site and any info as to waht may have caused this ch53 to go down.
We have the official loss corrdinates as ZD 05000 29500, which plots out to about 10 miles Approx due east of Hue, South Viet Nam in the Gulf of Tonkin.
Thanks for you help

Bart was hooking a ride to Danang for R&R when the CH-53 hit the mountain near Hai Van pass. I was in S-3 of VMO-6 at the time. Bill McGaw
