PFC Clarence A. KIMM died as a result of drowning on 13 MAR 1967. It is believed that he died off of the beach at MMAF in the surf (possibly a riptide). He may have been learning to swim for the first time as it was understood that he desired to be qualified as a crew member on the huey.

I am looking for first hand or second hand information on this incident, including rescue and/or SAR operation participants. It is believed that he may have been missing for 5 days after drowning so that there would have been an SAR effort in mid-March 1967.

If you have any information, go to the following KIA link and add your information with the link on that page. As an option, send your information to me at history@popasmoke.com
