Please note the passing of my Brother, Tommy Rhodes, who was a part of your Unit during 1970 and 1971. On July 27, 2006, Tommy went to his Heavenly Home. Tommy had developed throat cancer and fought it for about three years. During the time Tommy was a Plane Captain with VMO-2, I was stationed at MAG 16, located at Marble Mountain with the 282nd Assault Helicopter Company. We were the only US Army unit on the installation. Tommy and I got to visit with each other quite often while we were in Viet Nam. I was at Marble Mountain from August, 1970 through August 1971. Being a Marine was one of the highlights of Tommy's life. In fact he was buried in full dress uniform. Tommy lived his final years in Athens, Texas and is buried in Pearland, Texas. Thank you for your links to the history of VMO-2. And please make note of Tommy's passing. As well, thank you for your service to Our Country.
