House Subcommittee Considers VA Health Care Bills

WASHINGTON�Shortly after Congress reconvened following the holiday recess, the House Veterans Affairs (VA) Subcommittee on Health began the process of deliberating on a number of pieces of legislation focusing on VA health care. Bills currently under consideration deal with emergency care, expanding mental health care, health care for women, veterans suicide, and other hot-button issues under the purview of the committee.
At a hearing on Jan. 17, the subcommittee heard from legislators sponsoring the bills, as well as from veterans service organizations (VSOs) and from VA officials on the administration�s response to the individual bills.
