Hi Gary,
I am hoping you may be able to assist me with out putting a request for information.
As you know, my husband Mel Davis passed away on January 1, 2009 from brain cancer. It was diagnosed as Glioblastoma-multiforme 4, or more commonly called GBM-4. I have filed with the VA for Agent Orange and been denied. Although GMB-4 IS a sarcoma, which sarcoma is on the presumptive list of diseases, GBM-4 is not considered as "that kind" of a sarcoma and is therefore not considered as one of the presumptive diseases.
Through research on the internet I have found other veterans and/or widows of veterans with the exact same issue! We are trying now to determine how many others there may be who are currently fighting or have lost their battle with this horrible disease. When GBM-4 is diagnosed, it has been around a while not rearing it's ugly head. But when found, the prognosis is not good as it is too late, and usually within a short time the battle is lost, as was the case with Mel (4 months).
What we are trying to gather is the numbers (count) of any veterans who have been diagnosed with GBM-4 and are currently battling the disease or have lost the battle.
If you could please put out a call to any organizations to which you belong for anyone that has GBM-4, or loved ones who lost a veteran to GBM-4, to please email me with the following information, it would be very greatly appreciated.
Name
Dates in Viet-Nam
Military Branch
Date diagnosed with GBM-4
email address to contact
Thank you so much in advance for any assistance you can provide.
