I was on Popasmoke in 2005 memories are still haunting me is there any out there that can verify any if my nightmares Does any one remember me my name is Kenneth Belvin I was in the sheet metal shop at Marble mountain VMO-2 in Nam July 1969 to July 1970 I'm having problems with PTSD and I'm trying to get some broken memories back in view.
One of the greatest horrors i experience is the night the sickbay was shelled all I remember is hiding first when the shell was incomming then we got up and ran to sickbay only to find people burned beyond recognition and yelling for help two of us ran to pull one of the men out just to have his skin sluff off in my hands he survived only long enough to suffer with all these burns and die I never forget the smell of burning flesh. and his skin on my hands. Can you help in clearing up any of the details? Need date and time any personnel that you may have names for.
The next time was the flight line incident on 25 march 1970 When the 4
pilots were killed Toby Gritz was one of the pilots cant remember the other
names; our tool room was where the pilots personal equipment was stored and
where several when searching for a smell in the tool room I discovered one
of the helmets still had a part of the pilots scull in it. If you can help I
would appreciate as the nightly horrors will not leave me alone.
If you have any names of others in our unit that are still alive please give
them my email address.
Thanks Kenneth Belvin
The incident report can be found on the KIA page of Pop A Smoke. I went through Basic School and flight school with Mike Justus one of the Marines that died in the crash. The aircraft were from HML-367

Ken I'm sorry you have had such a time with this on your mind. I want to share with you that 1. You are not alone ,so should ever get to that point ,2. Just know you can find some real good Marines Here that can listen and meet you on your level. Many of us have had or still have those kind of things to deal with . God Speed your peace ! JJ
