I pray that All who Knew Neil and Kim will hold their family up in prayer at this time. Lt. Col. Neil Allen(Ret.) went to a better resting place on May 28, 2010. His Marines of the HMM 262 will sure miss Him when those Reunion's come around. Do hope that Kim will still have the will to come be with us ,as She has time in the future. We are family for Ever. God Be with Kim and the Family as they go down this road in life. Put your Arm's around them and let them know you are there. God Speed Lt. Col. Truly saddened this morning
When Col. Allen left HMM-262 in March 69 I never expected to see him again, then in 09 at my first Tiger reunion there he was. I stood straight and sucked it in to shake his hand and told him what an honor it was. Remember JJ, you told him I was one of his and he said "No, he looks too young to be one of mine" It made the reunion for me to spend time and talk and remember. I sent him a tie at Chrismas with the squadron logo on it and a letter thanking him for keeping my head straight Christmas 68 and he replied how "He couldn't believe how good he looked in it" and we could wear them to dinner together in Reno. I expected to see him again.

RTB LtCol Abert "Neil" Allen
It is my extremely sad duty to inform you that NEIL ALLEN is "RTB" (Returned To Base"). Neil was an Old Tiger Pilot, one of our Commanding Officers in Vietnam (Sep 68 - Mar 69) and a friend to all of us. Neil had been ill since January and was hospitalized in the Southeastern Texas Medical Center, in Port Arthur, Texas, due to a series of medical issues.
Neil and his wife Kim were permanent fixtures at ALL of our Reunions. They had celebrated their 54th Wedding Anniversary on May 27, "...the day before he left..." as Kim told me. She also said that he was truly looking forward to seeing "his Marines, his Friends, his Buddies" in Reno, something that he treasured and looked forward to every year.
Funeral details are still being worked out and will follow shortly

RTB LtCol Albert "Neil" Allen
Neil's family will hold a private Funeral/Memorial Service today, Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 6:00 pm at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee, TX. His remains will be laid to rest with full military honors in Arlington National Cemetery at a date to be annouced later.
Rest in peace, my friend....

Been Thinking Of KIM Allen and ALL she's been doing this Past Year. Doesn't seem like its been over a Year since Neil (Sam Small) Allen was taken from US . Have Heard That Kim will be making the trip to Washinton DC and Neil will Make His Final Resting Trip

Hope that all of you will also Keep KIM ALLEN in your prayers as She really misses NEIL! She has a lot to do but thoughts are always around about Neil and missing him.
I have e-mail her back and forth just to keep her in the loop . Thanks /God Bless/All
