Subject: update on Bob Greer
I wanted to pass on excerpts from an email from my sister .... wife of Bob Greer
Hi to all. Yesterday, we had our consultations with the Directors of Radiation and the Brain Tumor Center. We learned that Sloan Kettering confirmed the tumor to be a glioblastoma, which is a very nasty type of tumor.[ ] We were advised that this course of treatment is 80% effective in putting the tumor into remission. The bad news is that 99% of the time, the tumor comes back in two years so the goal is to push that time out as far as possible. They are making advances in treatment all the time, so we are hopeful for the future. We were advised that Bob’s quality of life should be very good during this time, so we really want to make the most of it and spend a lot of time with family and friends. Our next goal is for Bob to complete his in-patient rehab and come home on August 9, just before the treatments start. He will continue with therapy at home 3 times a week while getting radiation and chemo.
Thanks again for all your support, prayers and positive energy. Bob feels the benefit every day. Love, Kim
Bob has maintained his very positive outlook during his recent health struggles.
I don't know of you have contact info on some of Bobs old friends, but if you do, please pass this on.
