From Gordo Mello HMM-263.....I went online yesterday to pay my Chase credit card. I checked the statement and what do I see posted as a charge to my card, our stay at the Marriott!
I thought it a little odd as the charge usually is posted when one checks out, so I telephoned Marriott reservations. Well, they charged my card because I was a no show and had not called to cancel the reservation. Of course my question was to the person: why would I show up at the hotel for an event scheduled for July?
Anyway, the person that took my booking decided to enter my stay was going to be from June 9 to June 16 and not July 9 to July 16. What amazed me was the person questioned me veracity and that kind of pizzed me off. So I asked the person the following: why would I book a stay at the hotel in June for an event taking place in July? And this is after I explained I was part of the reunion and after the hotel agent repeated the month and days back to me when I made the reservation.
The result is I have to wait until Monday for a person to contact me from their business office to hopefully rectify the situation.
Just wanted to make you aware of this situation and if you feel it necessary for other squadron members to check their reservations just to be on the safe side.
It's the last time I won't check a confirmation email from a hotel when the reservation is made. Had I checked it that day, I could have resolved the situation then and there. The price for presuming somebody else got the job completed accurately.
Re: Double check our reservations at JW Marriott
12 June Hotel report we received shows the reservation for reunion dates
