Gents,
For nearly the past year now your management and Lucky the Dog have been working assiduously to get GySgt. R. Lee Ermey of the TV show Mail Call to appear at our Saturday Night Dinner & Show. Though we thought we had him hooked, the Gunny's manager has just informed us that he has a schedule conflict and will be unable to join us.
While disappointing, his absence will save our President and Board of Directors (excepting yours truly, of course) from undergoing the humiliating on-stage inspection we were secretly planning to have Gunny Ermey hold. Can you picture the look on J D's face when the Gunny looked him up and down, then ordered him to give him twenty-five? How sweet it would have been!
Anyway, all is not lost since we have a contingency plan (are we Marines or what?) to fill the void. Thanks to the creative genius of our founder, Roger Herman, a USO Show he is producing will fill the vacant time slot. It will feature, among other things, a 40-minute retrospective video of our last nine reunions titled 'Lucky Looks Back'. Roger informs me that all the scenes with guys wearing black socks have been deleted.
If past experience is any guide, Roger's production should more than compensate for Ermey's absence. Hey! Maybe Roger who will MC the show can order J D to give us twenty-five anyway.
Semper Fi,
The Management & Lucky the Dog
Gy Ermey!
I will miss the "Gunny" & his show, BUT
will look forward to the USA show & it's
capabilities. It's all good, each & every
reunion has been a sucess & always will be.

Oh well
Tom
My wife doesn't believe that Lee's portral in Full Metal Jacket was anything more than an act anyway. It is great to know that a former Marine has a fulltime job, at our age. I let everyone know around here that I was going to be UA the weekend of the 10th. They are all finding excuses why they can't do without me. Well they will have to get along "scratching their lonesome behinds". When the show starts you will only need 1/2 the seating, I'm sure our care-tenders are not going to want to give up their adopted nickle machines.
Give me 25, oh my, you can move the decismal point one place to the left and I would have a time trying to give you 2.5 of anything.:p

The time, the inclination, and the where-with-all
No Ermey? How about Logue & Wilson
No Ermey?
Just get Logue and Wilson up on stage. That's good for four or five hours of original, if not PC entertainment.
