They gave they’re all.
They heard their nations call,
and the young men went off to war.
For many they gave they’re all,
But these young warriors knew nothing of the blood and the gore.
For freedom they fought and died,
a great adventure it would be they were told.
Oh how many mothers have cried,
yet, their sons were so very bold.
From the Sudan to Iraq,
the ANZAC spirit is still alive.
As the ghosts of the fallen did soar
and today the ANZAC legacy does thrive.
One hundred thousand lives have been lost,
in many terrible war.
But it was our freedom, they paid the price,
to Heaven, their spirits did soar.
They died to save their mate,
as we watch the veterans march down the street and yet.
So he could live to carry on the fight,
do we remember, to never forget?

If you protest wars, remember that it is the blood of the soldiers who shed theirs for your right to protest them.

(It is a beautiful and fitting thing to die for ones country.)
