This is a poem being sent from a Marine. It makes you truly thankful for all of our troops.
THE MARINE _______
We all came together, ____
Both young and old. ____
To fight for our freedom, ____
To stand and be bold.
In the midst of all evil, ____
We stand our ground, ____
And we protect our country ____
From all terror around. ____
Peace and not war,
Is what some people say. ____
But I'll give my life, ____
So you can live the American way. _______ I give you the right ____
To talk of your peace, ____
To stand in your groups, ____
And protest in our streets.
But still I fight on. ____
I don't bitch, I don't whine. ____
I'm just one of the men ____
Who is doing your time. _______
I'm harder than nails, ____
Stronger than any machine, ____
I'm the immortal soldier,
I'm a US MARINE! ______
So stand in my shoes, ____
And leave from your home.
Fight for the people who hate you, ____
With the protests they've shown. ____
Fight for the stranger, ____
Fight for the young, ____
So they all may have, ____
The great freedom you've won. ____
Fight for the sick, ____
Fight for the poor. ____
Fight for the cripple, ____
Who lives next door. ____
But when your time comes, ____
Do what I've done.
For if you stand up for freedom ____
You'll stand when the fight's done. ____
