Dear Mary,

We sincerely hope our package from Al Taqaddum has arrived in New Jersey. We mailed the package a few weeks ago, but I am being told by Postal Personnel the package was held up awaiting clearance at the JFK Postal Center.

Please know the Marines and Sailors of HMM-262 all “pitched in” to help with the Scholarship. When the box arrives, you will find three surprises: A New Leather Flight Jacket, a Flight Helmet, and a Money Order for $2620.00

I hate to ruin the surprise, but I thought others should know what the Marines are doing in your Brother’s memory. We truly hoped the surprises would arrive in time for the picnic. We hope the Jacket and Helmet will find their way to Tom’s High School and will be displayed permanently in his honor.

I am attaching a picture of the Jacket and Helmet you can display at the picnic. Our prayers are with you and your family and we hope you have great weather this weekend.
