Butcher of Bahgdad

While I salute the tenacity of our troops in running this dog to ground, I must point out that he is a POW, and is not supposed to have his photo distributed for propaganda purposes. Lest we want to see pictures of our own brothers used in a like manner, It would be in our best interest to not let these pictures out. I believe we should be doing the most we can, to maintain the moral highground we traditionaly like to stand upon. When I was growing up and when I enlisted, it was with the vision that America stood for 'Right'.
Now, my experiences 'In Country' didn't always reach that standard, and I will suffer the pangs of concience for those transgressions to my last day. But I would wish for the young ones to avoid that remorse as much as possible.

Just my 2 coppers on the subject.....

This is much more than a simple photo of a POW, for me and many hundreds of thousands of U S Citizens the capture of Saddam was the defining moment in operation Iraqi Freedom.

This is an officially released Department Of Defense photo, released to accomplish two very important missions.

The purpose was to record that the event actually took place and that Saddam was treated well not suffering any harm inflicted by his U.S. Military captors.
