Just received a phone call from Kate Karr, from here in Jacksonville who you may remember was Lloyd Karr's widow. She told me that Walt Jones died this AM. His details are sketchy right now, but the funeral is planned for Wed in Kenner, I believe.
As one of the original 46 bubbas and an Ole' HMX alum, Walt was "one of the few" indeed.

Tim !Walt was one of the few leaders that kept Us a going when the going got tuff. Always said to come on down for some fishing, but about the time I'd think of going he'd be on the road again. Those last years He sure did make the rounds. So glad to have been able to be there last year as He and Nancy made the Reunion too.
Re: Walt Jones
We'll miss you Walt.
On the other site also.
I also appreciate all the books we traded back and forth.
Re: Walt Jones
I just pulled up this photo from the HMM-262 Old Tiger reunion we had at Quantico in 2011.
This was the "daily check in" crew with an HMX-1 CH-46
