Viet vets passing
Larry,
Only 1/3?? 34 years after the "end" that's not too bad. I was 18-19 when there in '67-'68 and I'm "only" 60 now. The senior Officers and Staff NCOs would all be in there later 70's and 80s by now....Many older than that.
When my Dad went to a 2nd Army/Okinawa reunion in the 60's about half were gone or in nursing homes and that was only 25 or so years after the Okinawan invasion.
If I'd have known I was gonna live this long I would have taken better care of myself!
Details
LZ, that quote you did was my simplified account that I shared with the "slopchute" forum guys who do not know most of us air wingers. I am sure the specific details out Tom McKnight's accident and passing will be forthcoming.
In any case, it's a hard loss to take. He was a well-known Ugly pilot.
Bill
I know it was short, but I thought it was important to get the word out to all of the Ugly Angels.
Update
Tom McKnight passed away at 1330 today from injuries suffered as
the result of a fall at his home on Friday. "
