Wife of Allan Holmes, HMM-165 plankholder:
RIP Sally....

Sally Cooke-Holmes

Sally Jane (Jamy) Cooke-Holmes, a former resident of Bainbridge, Georgia, and most recently residing in Pinedale, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Wednesday the 18th of August, in the year of our Lord 2010. Sally was born April 22nd, 1946, to Allen and Ruth Barber-Cooke, and was the loving wife of Allan.

Sally, a graduate of Drake University, put her education to best use by caring for her husband and children. Her family, along with the pets in her life, birds, cats, fish, dogs, cows, horses, and turtles, would be hard pressed to have found a better person to look after and love them.

It was a long and hard battle, and she fought her best. Sally had been in the hospital in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and her husband, Allan, was overseas, when he received word that the time was near. He returned home and truly feels that Sally waited for him. A wonderful afternoon and evening was spent together. As was Sally’s wish, her last day was spent at home, and Allan drove her there.

Sally is survived by her husband Allan, of 40+ years, a daughter, Jennifer Louise and her daughter Melanie Morgan, a son, Joshua Allan, and his wife Meredith Allison. She is also survived by her sister, Suzanne, and her husband Frank Loeffler. There are also many nieces and nephews, along with brothers and sisters in law, in Texas and Georgia, too numerous to name, in fear of leaving one out.

Sally will also be remembered by many friends, not only in the States, but those living overseas.

The family would like to thank Dr Michael Menolascino, his nurse, Amy Adams, and the entire staff at St John’s Medical Center in Jackson Hole Wyoming, that showed such kind, considerate, love, care, compassion, and assistance, all these years.

Sally, as per her wishes, was cremated. Sometime in the near future, her ashes will be spread at Mt Rushmore, with family in attendance.

A Memorial Service, will be held in the Chapel of St John’s Medical Center, in Jackson, on Thursday, the 26th of August. This service is by request of the Nursing staff of SJMC.

No flowers or contributions of any sort are necessary. Let your heart be your guide, but Sally would approve of donations to the Republican candidate to the office of the President of the United States of America, in 2012.

Thanks Joe, that was kind of you. Got through yesterday without driving a ten penny nail through the eye of an idiot and it looks better each day.

Al and Sally

Al,
It was my pleasure, Sir! Tried to get it on the White Knights site as well, but had to reduce the size. I posted the link there.
Small comfort now, but we're here for you anytime, anyplace!
