Steve and I were at HMX-1 in the Early 80's. What a good Marine he was. He was a Marine One Crew Chief. We had a lot of good liberty together. I am shocked and saddened at his passing.

Steve and I started out on a troop train from New York to Parris Island back in '69, We attended boot camp, Itr, Memphis, New River,Detroit and shared many an experience as '46 crew chiefs.Steve was a genuine Marine with an uncanny rapid wit that put a smile on the most disgruntled or dismayed individual. We were good friends and enjoyed many a swoop from New River to New York and many liberty nights at the various bases. We parted ways in '73 Steve shipping over for WestPac and myself to the civilian world. We remained in contact over the years keeping tabs on each others careers and and families. As was befitting when Steve retired my wife and I attended his post and relief at Andrews AFB. We remained in contact over the years mostly via internet and an occasional visit when business allowed. Steves friendship will be deeply missed.
Rest in peace Sgt. Maj
