Almost this same time last year I wrote your association to tell you about my brother-in-law and his illness. Today, sadly I Report that Henry passed away last night. Please pass on to all concerned. His fondest memories were sharing time with all of you. We would listen to him telling about the convention for weeks after you had one. Thanks to all of the members who brought so much happiness to him through the years. I will keep you informed about the details as I get them. I also am going to try and get him buried at the gardens at NAS Pensacola.

Re: RTB Henry Bracha

Hi,
If this is the Jim (Henry) Bracha that lived in Milton, FL, I am shocked! I live in Gulf Breeze, FL, and I would see Jim from time-to-time, but I didn't even know that he had been sick... I went through flight training with Jim, spent time with him in VMO-6, etc. I have not seen anything in the local newspapers Obit Section - what happened?

Re: RTB Henry Bracha

ALL,
I have copied and pasted the email response that I received this morning from Jim's brother-in-law, Lonnie LaShum, USN (Ret).....

"Mr Wilson, sorry for the delay in responding. Last year on Feb 2nd Jim's lungs collapsed and was rushed to the ER. While there he got very sick. His heart stopped a couple of times, his kidneys quit working, his lungs remained collapsed. He stayed in the hospital for about two months. He finally got up and was recouping very well. He was almost back to being good old Jim. On Feb 2nd 2014 at about 0500 he got out of bed and started his breathing treatment. Donna his sister, my wife was there and checked on him. She went back to sleep. About 0800 she went to check on him and he had passed. Just silently slipped away. He did not want any notifications to be printed or any memorial. He wanted to be cremated and over. We did request he be interred at Barrancas National Cemetery onboard NAS Pensacola and he was. If you will please pass this to the reunions people so they will know. Going to the reunions absolutely was the highlight of his world. Being a Marine was great enough to him but having fellowship with all of you was even greater. If you want you can reach Donna at 850-777-9262 or dlashum@aol.com.

Lonnie G. LaShum

USN ret"

Semper Fi,

Steve

RIP, Henry "Jim" Bracha......
