It is with great sorrow that we pass along, at the request of his family, that Ronald Zaczek passed away this morning, January 8, 2023, at 3:50 a.m. eastern time. He died as a result of cardiac issues. His spirit was strong but his body was weak due to multiple medical conditions directly related to his exposure to agent orange in Vietnam while serving his country in the United States Marine Corps.
Ron was a valiant and loyal member of Scarface, and a proud Marine. He worked hard to keep squadron members united through reunions and communications. I was honored to have Ron speak at my husband’s funeral at Arlington National Cemetery in October, 2022. (My husband was Bill “Kels” Kelley). Rest in Peace, Ron. Semper Fi. Pat Kelley
I didn't know Ron when he was in Vietnam but we became friends when he was stationed with VMO-1 at New River.
It was always great to see him at the Popa Smoke reunions. RIP my Friend.
