It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of Sergeant Bob Walton. Bob was a crew chief with HMM-361. He was with the squadron when it was initially deployed to Vietnam. During his time in country he was affectionately called Old magnet ass and also recipient of the Purple Heart.

Bob died of Leukemia on September 25th, 2007. He leaves his loving wife Joan and black lab (Tank). Bob was very proud to be a marine and a member of our Pop A Smoke Helicopter Association. He will be buried at Arlington cemetery on October 23, 2007 with full military honors.

I will miss my friend and brother marine.

Semper fi,

J.R.Tomlinson
