Philip (Hawk) Howard returned to base on April 6, 2008 in Grafton, IL after a year long battle with cancer. He served as a combat crew chief in ’66 and ’67 with VMO 2, MAG16 at Marble Mountain. In ’68 and ’69 he was with VMO 6, PMAG 39 at Quang – Tri. He was a firefighter in Alton, IL for 24 years, retiring as captain in May 2000. He will be missed by family and friends.

Its Always with a heavy heart when I hear of another one of our men have
gone. I do want to let the Howard family that I send our prayers,and ask God
to speed them comfort at this time. May they feel His loving arm around them
to let them know HE is there. God Bless and Keep you ALL.
