FAMILY: The day brings news of the loss of another Brother. The Daily Oklahoman carries the obit of another American Hero who has Returned to Base. Terry Powell of Shawnee, Ok. passed away Sunday and his services will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, the 7th, at 10:00am in the "People's Building at the Heart of Oklahoma Expo Center" in Shawnee. He will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery. Terry served as Shawnee City Manager since June 1991. Terry's tour as an active duty Marine was cut short after being severly wounded in VietNam. Terry suffered a leg wound that almost cost him his leg but worked hard to overcome that injury. He came back to Oklahoma to make his mark on this State and spent several years serving the people of Shawnee and Guymon. It was the honor and pleasure of the YL-37 Group to have made his acquaintance on one of YL-37's outings to the Shawnee area. Terry was the most gracious host. In an often all to rare occasion, it was this Marine's honor to get to meet Him and fly with Him as He took the controls of the type a/c He became a pilot of the finest in. Terry is at Walker's Funeral Home in Shawnee. SF --- ED Tatman and the YL-37 Group
