It's with a heavy heart that I have to announce the passing of GySgt(ret) Jimmy P.Watson. Jimmy made his final flight this morning,30 March at his home in Sequin,Tx. Jimmy served with HMH-463 and HMM-263, 70-71 at Marble Mountain. A truly outstanding Marine and crew chief. He was known to help out a lot of Marines when dealing with the VA for them including his best friend, Bill Duckworth. He was their 'attack dog" and would not give up the fight. If there was anyone who could have 'field stripped" a Ch-53 and put it back together, it was him. There will be no services, but if anyone would like to send a letter of condolence to his better half, Vee, send them to: 136 High Country Dr, Sequin,Tx 78155-9470. Semper Fi Jimmy.

RIP Jimmy
Jimmy helped me a few times researching stuff for my disability rating with the VA. He was very helpful. Adios Gunny
Vee called me this morning and told me before I saw it on this site. I knew Jimmy at MMAF but not very well, I did fly with him a couple of times though. When I joined POPASMOKE a few years back he called me right out of the blue and after a while my old memory started to remember him and over the years we have kept in touch and he has also helped me with the VA a few times. My wife and I went to see him and Vee a couple years back and had a really good visit. I did have to change the subject a few times because if you know Jimmy, he would start getting wound up if we talked about the same topic for too long almost to the point he couldn't set still. I will miss him.

When Jimmy first made contact with me I couldn't remember much so he sent this picture to me. It really didn't help much until I saw him in person. Looks like he was getting an Air Medal or something. He said he didn't like to have his picture taken. Anyway, I kept this and here it is.
Save a spot for me on the starboard gunner side if possible Jimmy. After all, I am a bubble chaser.
