Hello Bob:
I am afraid that I have some rather sad news- Nancy Pless died this afternoon of a heart attack. From what I understand at the moment, there will be a memorial next Saturday at her home church in Coweta County. (Not sure which one that is, but will find out). I don’t know much else at the moment- I just wanted to let you what I know at the present time.
Steve

Memorial Service for MARINE MOM Nancy
There will be a Memorial Service for "Marine Mom" Nancy Pless at 15:00 on SATURDAY, 18 FEB 2006 at the Heatherwood Baptist Church in Newnan, GA. Friends and family are welcome.
There are two Heatherwood Baptist Churches in the area (Newnan and Union City) - do not be confused. Nancy's home church is located east of Exit 47 off of Interstate 85 south of Atlanta.
DIRECTIONS: Exit I-85 at Exit 47, drive east on Rte 34 (Bullsboro Road) for approximately one mile to Shenandoah Blvd on right. Heatherwood Baptist is located at 721 Shenandoah.
MM Nancy
As many of you are aware, Nancy Pless was an attendee and functionary for many years at our POPASMOKE Reunions. Nancy and Mike Clausen, MOH did the formal honors with wreath-laying ceremonies for our lost MArine brothers at our Memorial Services.
Over the years, she became known as "Marine Mom" (or MM Nancy as she signed her letters) Nancy as she loved her Marines and would not miss a reunion or other event despite her significant back pain. She was living in a convalescent situation during her heart attack on Sunday. She will be much more at ease now, as she suffered significantly from that pain.
Her flight suit and ball cap are now retired. We will all miss her, and will remember her soft-spoken southern style as another of our Marine Memories.
