MSgt. Robert L. Hall, Sr., USMC Ret., 68, born in Philadelphia PA, and a resident of Pensacola FL, passed away into the Lord’s loving arms on October 19, 2013.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sherry, son Robert Jr. (Rina) of Eagle River, AK, and daughter Dawn Melissa of Pensacola, FL. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren; Michael Takeshi Hall of Seattle, WA, and Krystil Midori Hall of Eagle River, AK.
He proudly served in the US Marine Corps from 1964 to 1986, and completed 2 tours of duty during the Vietnam Conflict. He was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon, Combat Aircrew Wings with 3 battle stars, the Air Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Gallantry Cross with Palm, the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 battle stars, Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Citation, RV Meritorious Unit Commendation, RV Presidential Unit Citation, and Good Conduct Medal with Silver Star. He was an avid golfer who could be found on the links every available day until he was forced to give it up for health reasons.
During his last 10 years in Pensacola, his neighbors fondly recognized him as “Scooter Bob” and he gained the love and respect of many.
A graveside service with military honors will be presented at 1:15 PM on Friday, November 8, 2013 at Barrancas National Cemetery at Fort Barrancas, NAS Pensacola, by the Pensacola Marine Corps League.
