Lil Top

Walt

We all mourn his passing. I will miss his dancing at the reunions with the dollar bills hanging out his ears. He was truly a good guy.

Lil Top - What a Great Marine

MGySgt Karr was a great Marine! Little Top was a super CH-46 maintenance person, and was the CH-46 pilots best advisor.

Semper Fi, and God Speed.

The funeral is tomorrow at 11AM at the Methodist church at Henderson and Gum Branch followed by internment in the Veteran Cemetery at 12 noon. The funeral home is Jones Funeral Home at 303 Chaney Ave Jacksonville NC. The reason it is so soon is because Kate didn't want to bury him on his birthday and she said they don't bury anyone in the veteran Cemetery on the weekend. SF

Semper Fi, Top -

"Little Top" Karr may be gone from our sight, but his memory will stay with us all for as long as we get together at our reunions. He joined us for our HMM-262 Old Tigers Reunion Houston '05 this past July 21-24. He was usually the shortest guy in the room, but there was no doubt that when "Top" was present, he was all Marine. And, he always had a smile on his face and a good word for everyone.

Oh how he loved to dance with the ladies and last weekend was no exception. He did us the honor of cutting our cake along with the youngest Marine present.

God Speed, Top -

Little Top Karr

"Little Top" was my buddy too. He was one of the toughest little Marine gunny I ever knew, when I met him at New River. He and Walt and Big"O" were a threesome who were Father figures to us young Marines in a war far from home and our blood families. We followed them in the field on recovery's with no fear because they were there and had our backs. What a surprise I had when I saw them together at our reunion at Pensacola in 98 after 31 years, and they were there in Houston for our last reunion last weekend. Little Top will be missed, but I have no fear of going where he is now with a lot of our old buddies and him to greet us when we get there. That will be the reunion to top them all!
Semper Fi,
Tim McMahon HMM-262 65-67
