MAJOR PAUL DEAN PAYNE, USMC (RET)
1937 - 2007

Military memorial services will be held for Retired Major Paul Dean Payne, 69, of Pensacola, FL, at 11:00 am Thursday, August 16, 2007, in the All Faiths Chapel, 250 Chambers Ave, Bldg 634, Pensacola. Committal services will follow in the Service Shelter at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL. Cremation was under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX.
Mr. Payne was born December 22, 1937 to George Leo Payne and Elsie (Davis) Payne in Wasco, CA. He earned his Bachelor Degree from Northeastern State University, and had lived in Pensacola for over 30 years. He served his country through his extended career in the United States Marines, earning the rank of Major. He served 3 tours in Vietnam, flew fixed winged and rotary winged aircraft, and taught flying lessons. He was an avid sailor as well, and had a great passion for sailing. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Cora Anderson of Lubbock, TX in 1990.

He is survived by his mother, Elsie Payne of Okemah, OK; four sons, the Rev. Mike O'Donnell of Abernathy, TX, Staff Sargent Jason Payne of Destin, FL, Chris Payne of Spavinaw, OK and John MacFie of Charleston, SC; a daughter, Timilyn Ramaker of Spavinaw, OK; two brothers, John Payne of Tulsa, OK and Pete Payne of Amherst, TX; a sister, Maxine Hooper of Auburn, CA; and six grandchildren.You may send condolences to the family at www.AbellFuneralHome.com
