Please post the following obituary on the Popasmoke website.
Byran Gallup was assigned to HMM-361 in country in 1967. "By" was truly
one of the "few good men." Many of our younger aviator members will
remember him from HT-8 and CNATRA in the period 1968-1970. He was also
a Series Commander at MCRD San Diego in the period 1964-1966.
"By" retired from the Corps in 1978 and settled in Conway, Arkansas.

Byran A. Gallup, 69, of Mayflower, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2006.
He was born October 3, 1936 in Santa Monica, CA, to the late James Leo
Gallup and Lavon (Bischoff) Gallup.
He was Director of Veterans Employment and Training State of Arkansas,
Department of Labor. He served as LEVR at the Conway Employment Office
and retired after 17 years and was a retired Marine helicopter pilot.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy (Cline) Gallup of Mayflower; two
daughters, Lavon Hatcher of Roswell, GA, and Mary Crawford of Conway;
four grandchildren, Shelby and Savannah Hatcher and Matt and Parks
Crawford; and one brother, Norman Ray Gallup of Rexburg, ID.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Melvin Leo
Gallup.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the DAV Chapter 10, or the
UCA Honors College.
The family will be receiving friends at the Crawford's residence.
