Friends,
Lt. Col. Robert Zangas, USMCR, was killed in Iraq on the 9th of March while serving as a civilian employee of the Provisional Government. He is the son of Chuck Zangas, a dear friend from our days in A-4’s in the 60’s. The Zangas’ were raising their children at the Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point when we first met. Their five children closely matched the ages of our five.
I learned of Bob’s tragic loss while on vacation in an email from his dad. I think it is very important that you visit the blog that Bob maintained. View it at this link:

Take your time to read the various sections of the web site. There are photos of Bob and his family as well as messages of condolence on the Message Board. There is a thank you message from Bob’s widow for the help she has received since as well as the eulogy delivered at his funeral.
Please visit the site. It will help you understand the cost we pay to preserve liberty for our nation while bringing freedom others.
