We have received the below email from Neil's Widow, Kim:
Dear Jake.
I am going to lay Neil's remains to rest in the Colombarium at Arlington Cemetery, Washington DC and celebrate his life at a wake in Clarendon, Arlington, Va. Would you please pass the word to any member of HMM-262 who may be in that area on June 13, 2011. If coming I would appreciate a notice sent to me at my son's e-mail, Tim Allen :
Burial of Lt.Col. Albert N. Allen, USMC
SERVICE DATE AND TIME: Monday, June 13, 2011 at 3:00 PM
SERVICE TYPE: In Columbarium, Arlington Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
HONORS: US Marine Corps Band, Body Bearer Team (6), Bugler, Caisson, Escort, Firing Party
The plan of the day is:
At 2:00 pm: We will meet to board the limos in front of the *Nam Viet* restaurant (1127 North Hudson Street Arlington, VA 22201-5013)
There is a county garage next to the restaurant, as well as plenty of on-street parking
As soon as all are boarded, we will proceed to the Admin Building of the Arlington Cemetery, greeted by GySgt Charles Peoples and enter the Admin building. After paperwork is completed, we will return to the Limos and proceed to the Columbarium to perform the burial service.
After burial service, we will return in the limos to the Nam Viet* restaurant where we will celebrate Neil's life.
I would appreciate your letting me know if you will be attending and the number of persons in your party. Please let me know by Saturday, June 11 by either email to: timothychenallen@gmail.com or leaving a message on my cell: 504-905-9525.

I never svered with Col Allen but I really cared for him . I loved to hear him and Top Karr tell sea stories. I wish I could be rhere. SF

He was my C.O. in '68 at Quang Tri (HMM-262).
