I was a good friend of 1Lt Grady J. Pryor, who died on 8 Feb 1992 in his CH-53 (I believe). Does anyone know the details of the accident, or remember him? I haven't found any information on the cause/details of the accident. Please help me...

Maj Scott A. Guidry, USAF

I knew Grady. My husband was his friend and in his sister squadron at the time of his accident, HMH461. They also went to flight school together. I don't know if my husband can answer any questions but he'd help in any way.
Grady was a great guy. I met him back in '90 while they were all still in flight school and was so happy when we ended up at New River together. He's greatly missed. All I know of his accident is that there was a crack in a rotor blade. The guy who would know most is Van Tran. He was dash 2 on that flight. I've not spoken with him in years but he was a good friend and a great guy.
We think of Grady often. I used to harass him constantly over his accent:)

Grady Pryor

Ms Tally, The best way is to contact this Air Force Major, and let him know your Husband may be able to help in his search. Also, He could contact the Squadron, and get info from them as well. Semper Fi, and READY-APP.
