JACKSON, Larry E. "L.J." 68, of Asheville, NC, formerly of Troy, OH, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015. He was born in Troy, OH on May 13, 1947 to the late Martin W. & Elsie M. (Shane) Jackson. Larry had worked at the Montgomery County Veterans Service Office, and most recently, was President of Avatara Services, LLC. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps. during the Vietnam War and was a charter member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #97, where he served as a past President and Color Guard Commander. L.J. was also a past member of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park Board in Dayton, OH. Survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Patti; daughter, Buffi; son, Steven; step-children, Eric (Buffi), Stephanie (Chris) & John (Kellie); grandchildren, Caroline, Olivia, Justin, Savannah, Marissa, Lola, John, Alicia & one on the way (Jaxon); sister, Nancy; brother, Martin; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & many friends. Funeral service 12:30 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2015 at the GEORGE C. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, "Northridge Chapel," 5040 Frederick Pike at Needmore Road. Rev. Wayne Woody, officiating.
