Message: Curtis and I attend the Dallas / Fort Worth Reunion (in 2007) together and I met so many of you that I just don't remember your names. Curtis had been on dialysis for several years and passed away soon after the reunion. If anyone remembers us being there I would love to hear from you. We took care of each other for several years and tried so hard to have a dialysis machine placed at our home, called "Angel's Rest", here in Maine. However, after taking the very long journey to learn how to operate this machine, Curtis came down with cancer that had metatasized...It was too late. I spoke with so many of you and danced with a few other. Curtis went to dialysis twice while we were in Forth Worth and even though it has taken me quite a while to pull my life together a bit...I know he would want me to tell that you made his last real and true dream come true. He refused ti die until he attended that reunion and even still held on to the memories until Septem!
ber 25, 2007 when he passed in his sleep and life changed forever as it did for all of you when you landed in the 'Hell Hole" called Vietnam. I love all of you and my respect and admiration cannot find word to be defined. My dad was also a WW11 combat Marine in the South Pacific and he and Curtis were friend long before I really knew who Curtis was. I feel I have taken much too long to express to all of you what you all did for him for so many years....One day this government will be forced to admit that Agent Orange, PTSD,and so many other companion diseases have taken the lives and destroyed the families of almost as many that fell in that useless political needless "Hell Hole", but what they weren't counting on is the angelic brotherhood that was created there and remains today and for eternity. I solute you, I hold you all in the highest esteem. I only wish I could see you all one more time. I remember Calloway.....Love Nancy
