received from Bob Bowen
------------------------------------------------------------------
I received word that John had passed away on 5Nov. John lived in Muleshoe, Tx, and burial was outside of Shawnee, Ok., in John's hometown. John was an example of "squared away".

John served with 263 in the early 60's at New River and went to Nam in Dec of 65, where he joined 361 at Marble Mountain.

He will be missed. SF

Sorry to learn of Gunny Butts passing on. Strange, but I sit here knowing the name, but trying hard as I might to place a face with the name. I think the Gunny may have been a SSGT at the time and was a Section Leader. Do any of you 361 troops out there from this time frame recall the Gunny?
