My father-in-law Gunney Seargent Vic Whitaker, VMO-6, passed away this past Wednesday, June 25, 2008, after a short battle with cancer.

The funeral was this morning, June 30, 2008, in Newsome, TX, and we were honored with the presence of a US Marine Rifle squad, Navy Bugler, and Marine Captain and Sergeant Major presenting the flag to Vic's wife, Onita.

Vic is survived by his wife Onita, 3 daughters (Janet, Dana, and Patricia), grandchildren (Heather, Richard, Jake, Abigail, Jessica, Janet Marie, Victoria, and Dale) and great-granddaughter Jessalyn.
