Wally,

GySgt Angelo Pumello was the Line Chief at HML-267, Camp Pendelton, when I was stationed there in 1969-1970; I don't' remember which Squadron he was with in Viet Nam.

According to "Semper Fidelis, Memorandum for Retired Marines", Volume 51 No. 4, 4th Qtr, Oct-Dec 2007, "TAPS", page 24, GySgt Pumello, Retired Dec 1969 and Passed Away Aug 2007.

GySgt Pumello was one helluva Good Marine, Good Man, and my mentor during that year I served with and for him. I have often thought about him and how much he meant to me and my newlywed wife. I have missed him and now look forward to joining him at the GREAT PX.

Semper Fidelis,
Arthur G Friend

Angie was the best pinochle player I ever knew. When we where at HMX together we where partners and played during lunch ever day. People stood in line to play us. We where really embarrassed one day as Sam Sabattus and his partner pulled a Boston on us , that was a costly loss. We made our spending money from that game. After he retired he opened a bar in Penn. Angie visited Jacksonville NC to see Lloyd Karr and Sam about once a year, when I could I would try to be there all so. Another good Marine gone and will be missed by all. See you on those golden shores my friend. Semper Fi Brother's forever. Walt Jones
