PIDOCK Gary Eugene Pidock, September 4, 1942 - November 1, 2009, in Evergreen, Colorado. Gary was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, and graduated from the Ohio Northern University with a Bachelor of Art Degree in Education. He received a Master of Business Administration from the Bryant College, Rhode Island. He taught at Greenville, Ohio High School, before joining the United States Marine Corps, and graduated from Officer Candidate School, Quantico, Virginia, in 1968. He was designated a Naval Aviator at the Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida, and served in the Republic of Vietnam, as a pilot with HMM-364, the Purple Foxes. Upon returning from Vietnam, he served as a flight instructor at the Marine Corps Air Station, Jacksonville, North Carolina, until his release from active duty in 1973. Gary continued his military service in the United States Marine Corps Reserves, at Naval Air Station, South Weymouth, Massachusetts, flying with HML-771. He left the Marine Corps in 1973, attaining the rank of Captain. Gary was a Special Agent and Investigator with the Criminal Investigative Division of the United States Internal Revenue Service. He was assigned at the Denver, Colorado Division at the time of his retirement from Federal civilian service. Gary was preceded in death by his father Percy Earl Pidock and mother Opal Lynch. Gary is survived by his daughter, Amy Eckel, wife of Allen Eckel, and two grandchildren, Jacob and Joshua; and his son, John. Gary enjoyed travel and was especially fond of Europe where he visited virtually every country, and resided during the winter months. He will be missed by those with whom he served in Government service and by his many friends from around the world. There will be a wake for Gary, on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 4 p.m. at ZENO'S, 384 West Third Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43201. All are welcome.

Capt Gary Pidock

I had the privilege of serving with and flying with Capt Pidock in HML 771. Another Marine with a continuous smile and full of mirth. God Speed and Semper Fidelis.
