I received this additional information from a co-worker:
Tom Conroy, age 59, died February 22, 2005, Washington DC.
Tom was a Marine helicopter pilot in Viet Nam (HMM 265). He had been working for the NTSB for the past 15 years as an accident investigator. For further information, contact Dennis Jones,
