=============
Billy Eugene Willey was born on February 13, 1947 in Glendale, California, to Frank Willey and Calla Mattice Willey. He died Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at his home in Santa Maria with his family beside him.

He was raised in Garden Farms/South Atascadero and attended school in Santa Margarita and Atascadero. He graduated from Atascadero High School in 1964 and joined the United States Marines in 1965. He served a tour of duty in Viet Nam, returning home after being wounded.

He worked at the Atascadero State Hospital for 25 years before retiring.

Having been a resident of San Luis Obispo County since 1950, he had many life long friends. His best friend and Marine buddy, Jim Nelson came to be with Bill the last month of his life, a time to reminisce and enjoy each others company.

Bill enjoyed many hobbies and pastimes which included fishing, woodworking, working in his beautiful yard, traveling (especially ocean cruising) with his wife and family, BBQ’s with family and friends, as well as spending time with his faithful dog, Heidi.

The USMC/Combat Helicopter Association (Pop A Smoke) held a special place in Bill’s life, he attended the reunions on a regular basis and enjoyed the contact over the years with the friends he made while on active duty. Bill flew in the YL-42 helicopter as a crew chief with the HMM-362 Squadron.

(Ugly Angels)

Bill will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He was kind and caring to all who knew him. He was a passionate home owner, always working to make his home comfortable and attractive. He always found time to work in his mother’s yard and home after she was widowed. Those who knew him will recall his wonderful sense of humor and generous nature. He will truly be missed by all those who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Ronda in Santa Maria. Son Steven Richard Willey of Bakersfield. Mother Calla Willey of Atascadero. Sister Linda Booker of San Luis Obispo. Stepson Ronnie Reynolds and granddaughter Destiny Reynolds, her mother, Heather Larson and brother Skyler Larson of Arroyo Grande. Father-in-law Ronald Reynolds (Eileen) of Utah; sister-in-law Shannon Marley (Clyde) of Morro Bay; nephews, Beau Booker, Nellis AFB; Ben Booker Hollywood, CA.; and Aaron Marley, Johannesburg, SA. Niece Amber Sellinger (Victor), Oceano. Also, the Jim and Connie DeSart family, and many extended family members, plus wonderful good friends and neighbors.

He is predeceased by his father, Frank, brother, Ronald and nephew, Tyler Booker.

The family give special thanks to Hospice Partners of the Central Coast for their loving care and support; especially Barbie Rozek, Anna Ventura and Joyce Slinkard. Thank you also to Pastor Mark, and the Chadwell St. neighbors for your care and concern.

Services will take place on Saturday (pending) at 10 AM at Los Osos Memorial Park, Los Osos, California with full military honors. Cremation and scattering of ashes will take place with family only at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s name may be sent to Hospice Partners of the Central Coast, 277 South St. Ste. R, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401, or a favorite charity.

Bill, Rest in Peace

Like so many of his Ugly Angel brothers, this fine Marine never left Vietnam. He continued giving his all for forty years. May he now rest in peace.
