Colonel Robert M. Ondrick U.S.M.C. retired, age 74, of Madison, passed away Jan. 20, 2012, at Lake West Hospital.
He was born Aug. 29, 1937, in Chagrin Falls.
Colonel Ondrick was a pilot serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. for more than 33 years, retiring in 1988. He also flew for flight operations for six years out of Cuyahoga County Airport.
Robert was a member of American Legion Post 112 in Madison, Marine Corps. Aviation Association, Vietnam Helicopter Association Local EAA, the Marine Memorial in San Francisco and a Friend of the Madison Library.
Colonel Ondrick had received his bachelor's degree and master's degree from Oklahoma State University and George Washington University.
Survivors are his wife, Donna; daughters, Cristine (Dr. Perry) Richardson of Arlington, Va., Lynora (Fredy) Arguello of Belton, Texas and Lorinda Ondrick of ado Springs, Colo.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Sylvia Ondrick; and sister, Patricia Rogers.
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at the Potti Funeral Home, 2726 Hubbard Road, Madison, where friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Lung Association , Madison Library or the Marine Corps. Aviation Association.

Served with Bob in country 1970. He was a great guy, and a regular at all the Pop A Smoke Reunions. We'll all miss him.
