Col. Ansley Horton, age 71 of Sharpsburg, GA, died Tuesday, December 16, 2008.
Col. Horton retired from the U.S. Marine Corps as a helicopter pilot, having served in Vietnam. He also retired from Delta Air Lines as a pilot instructor.
He is survived by his wife, Sadie Horton of Sharpsburg, GA; children, Scott & Linda Horton of Sandestin, FL, Kevin & Pam Horton of Colorado Springs, CO, Tim & Michelle Bowen of Birmingham, AL, Luerce Horton of Newnan, GA, and Mark & Amalia Bryant of Pensacola, FL; seven grandchildren; mother, Mrs. Leila Horton of Louden, TN; sister & brother-in-law, Bobbie & Ed Nicholson of Sweetwater, TN; brother & sister-in-law, David & Georgia Horton of Hiram, GA; many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service and interment with full military honors will be 1:15 p.m., Friday, December 19, 2008 at Barrancas National Cemetery with Marine Corps Chaplain officiating.
FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 100 Beverly Pkwy is in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at Faith Chapel from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Friday, December 19.
