Hi, I live in Pensacola and just read an obit in the Pensacola News Journal this morning for a former Marine Pilot I served with while a flight instructor at VT-1 (69-71). Capt.Norris W. Thomas passed away on May 20, 2006 at his home in Gulf Breeze, Florida. Norris was in VMO - 6 in 68-69. He left the USMC after his tour at VT-1 and worked in the construction industry in the Pensacola area. He will be buried at Barrancas National Cemetery on Friday, 5/26/06, in a private ceremony.
Norris was a fine pilot whose most memorable saying regarding his guns tour at Quang Tri during was, "THERE I WAS". He loved to go out and tail chase and dog fight in the intrepid T-34. Another Marine Patriot RTBs. God Bless you Norris.
Larry Monserrate, HMM -265, 68-69
