In Feb' 261 (Med Cruise) he was XO to Al Lougheed...he was "the Lt's pal"...Such a good person, tried so hard to be "the hammer" for Loughheed...early on, the Lt's used to pull pranks on him, such as "Vasoline" his door knob, ignite "deoderant" thru his door vent, and "penny in" his door so his door handle wouldn't work...sometimes co-ordinated w/the deoderant thingy...
What a Guy, he was...was ever so lucky to know him and talk with him just last year...

Re: Al Frisenda Pilot HMM162
I need to add, on that Med Cruise, I was TDY alot and when I finally caught up w/the boat (Guadacanal) I was on all the duty rosters for a week, as one would imagine, but on my first night as ODO/SDO/ or quarterdeck Asst., I was tasked w/going ashore w/MP's to bail Al out of Jail...Nice, France...He professed profound admiration for me the rest of the cruise, and much time thereafter...and he never got "locked" in his room again...go figure, the LPA so determined...RIP XO...
