For the members in the Pensacola Area, 5 Ospreys from Vmm 266 have been parked at the Pensacola Regional Heliport (south of the main terminals) this weekend. They are an amazing sight.

It is good to see them flying in our area again. I was driving by the airport last night and two of the Ospreys were turning, so I stopped. There were about 50 people that parked to watch the planes. The two taxied out and did a rolling take off in about 50 yards and flew around south of the airport. I thought they were leaving, but saw all 5 parked on my bike ride this morning. Don't know how long they will stay but check them out if you can.

It looks like Marine Corps (vertical/helicopter) aviation is alive and well!
