Conclusion of MV-22 operational evaluation release
June 28, 2005

Marine Corps Air Station New River -- Marine Tiltrotor Test and Evaluation Squadron 22 has completed Operational Evaluation as of midnight, June 18, 2005.

The purpose of OT-IIG was to test the operational effectiveness and operational suitability of the MV-22 Osprey. This test began on March 28, 2005.

Operational Evaluation consisted of three phases. Phase one was conducted at MCAS New River, N.C. Phase two was conducted at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. And Phase three was conducted aboard the USS Bataan (LHD 5).

“VMX-22 flew all evaluation flights and completed the test early. We will now continue to fly and train to support future operations,” said Col. Glenn M. Walters, VMX-22 Commanding Officer.
