I am the daughter of the late Robert Patton Davis. He is the pilot with the white helmet. My mother, Dory, told the story that he was in a ground unit and given orders to fly and they didn't have time to paint his helmet. Hopefully she will write you also and give you more details. I however, would like to know if anyone remembers or knew him. I enjoyed your website and any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
