While most of us sat home watching the news and generally feeling useless as nipples on a hog, there were a Few Good Men out there doing something about the hostage crisis in Teheran, Iran.

Among the members of Popasmoke, are a number of Marines who planned, prepared and participated in a hell of a mission.

IMHO, there ought to be a recognition of these people and maybe they should have a recognised componenet within Popasmoke. They number in the dozens and they have their fallen comrades to remember, so in some respects, they are like temporary squadron.... sorta.

Out of respect, I won't name the ones I know but they are among us and deserving of our appreication as well as that of our nation.

I will say that the two whom I know are Ugly Angels and career Marines.

Iranian Hostage Rescue

I agree as well and also know of these folks. Fine Marines! The conditions they had to work under and the aircraft they flew are testament to Marines CAN DO attitude!
How about "Desert One"?? I think that had a little something to do with the misson. Of course, they may have an opinion on that for them selves!!
