Has anyone ever located Dan Delude (aka."Guns" or "Dangerous Dan")???
He & I served together attached to HMM 265,RVN.He served as my 1st mech.
until getting him qualified as a crewchief in H46's circa '67.
We went out on many flights together in the free-fire zones out of Dong Ha,..
the rookie & the old salt.I enjoyed being his mentor & you couldn't ask for a
better wingman.
We also spent many a moment of down time,"gloriously" drunk & in search of
adventure in country,...when we got bored.Occasionally leading to semi-
disciplinary actions.
I last saw Dan while he was in the transit barracks at New River while I was
awaiting my RAD,Dec.1967.
Sure would like to know if anyone has ever located him.

Re: Dan Delude
Mike,
He was an early member of Popasmoke: check the Member Database. But that information seems a wee bit old. Maybe if you were in contact with the squadron, someone there might have an idea.
Good Luck.
Still Looking For
Brook,
Thanks for the input.Posted a message on the only site I could find for
HMM 265 but it doesn't appear to be very active or well maintained. That
would be the site at Military.com .
The only members of 265 (circa 67/68) that were a close knit group were
we crewchiefs.
I'm going to post a message on HMM 165's site since a lot of us were trans-
ferred from Ky Ha to Marble & 265 12/'66 & 1/'67.
Maybeso, one of the guys will have a clue.

Cpl Delude
Dan Delude was a crew chief on EH-100 (CH-46D) when I was with HMM-264 at New River and on the USS Guadalcanal during 1968.
